SUN.LAB for a creative outdoor 2010_STRIP-EASE

La panca portabiciclette Strip Ease, design Lana+Savettiere, è stata selezionata al concorso internazionale di design SUN.LAB For a Creative Outdoor 2010 e verrà esposta in occasione del 28° SUN, salone internazionale dell’esterno, 14-16 ottobre 2010, Rimini, Quartiere Fieristico.
Strip Ease è un modulo multifunzione per l’arredo urbano e da esterni che può avere diversi utilizzi in funzione del luogo e del suo posizionamento.
In orizzontale può essere utilizzato come panca porta biciclette nei parchi o in altri ambienti urbani. In verticale può diventare, per esempio, un supporto per un cestino per la spazzatura oppure un portavaso. Il nome Strip (striscia) Ease (agio, facilità) gioca sul fatto che l’oggetto viene creato partendo da un’unica striscia di acciaio riciclato post-consumo piegata a spirale. L’assenza di ulteriori lavorazioni permette inoltre di ridurre al minimo lo sfrido di materiale.
Strip Ease, design by Lana+Savettiere architects, was selected at the international competition SUN.LAB for a Creative Outdoor 2010, and will be exhibited at the 28th SUN, international exhibition of outdoor products, 14-16 October 2010, Rimini, Italy. “Strip Ease”, bench-bike rack, is a multifunctional modular street furniture element: it can be used as a bench and a bike rack if it’s placed horizontally, or it can easily become a vase or a rubbish bin by inserting a proper internal framework and placing it vertically. You can create continuous/long seat and bike rack by placing more modules beside each other. The name “Strip Ease” is also closely dealing with the production process. In fact the object is created simply by folding a aluminium strip in the shape of a spiral in order to minimize the waste of material.
